The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Beyond the Wall, knocking off the Buffalo White Walkers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Wes Johnston played a key role in the triumph. Johnston got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The winning continues for Northern Virginia, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Harvey Thomas? The Northern Virginia catcher had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 2-0. For the game, Thomas had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
