Fat Cats Get Past Barton Springs for 8-7 Win
|
The timely hitting of Brad Reid helped the Ottawa Fat Cats down the Barton Springs Blues, 8-7. Reid was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Fat Cats. The win belonged to Pierre-Antoine Mauduit in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Ed Taylor took the loss for Barton Springs. Ottawa is third in the Menard's AA with a record of 35-28.
The Fat Cats were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 26-year old center fielder Archie Nichols landed a big blow. He turned a first pitch sinker from Ed Taylor into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Nationals Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Fat Cats home with a thrilling 8-7 win.
"This place was rockin'," Reid said.
