|
Getting an impressive start from Marvin Johnson, Casper beat Ottawa by the score of 3-1. Johnson, the winner, moves to 5-6. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Hai-feng Zhu earned the save for Casper.
Frank Douglas had a big run-scoring double for the Ghosts in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Casper leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a curveball from Bob O'Reilly, who is tied for 5th in the 3AA in quality starts with 8, and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ghosts ahead, 2-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza.
The triumph puts Casper at 32-32 for the season.
