Virginia Beach parlayed a decent outing from starter Dean Bradley into a solid win over the Tacoma Fur Traders. The final score was 4-3. The save was credited to Jack Barr, his 12th. The 6th-place Fur Traders have lost 7 straight games.
Virginia Beach used a well-timed hit by Alden Swain to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Whales ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
