|
The Pine Island Dolphins defeated the Casper Ghosts, 5-4, in M3L Double A action at The Graveyard. Pine Island pitcher Lawrence Higgins had a standout performance. Higgins picked up the win for Pine Island, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. José Zapata was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.
Alejandro Delvillar took Casper hurler Júlio Ramírez deep in the top of the second. His 3-run home run put the Dolphins on top, 3-0. In all, Delvillar had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"That was a really good outing by Lawrence," said Pine Island manager Alfonso Dolton.
The 11th-place Dolphins are now 24-42, the Ghosts 27-39.
