Despite a fine performance by center fielder Alden Swain, the Virginia Beach Whales lost to the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 7-5. Swain was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Squirrel Hill's record now stands at 31-35, placing them 8th in the Menard's AA.

Ricardo Aquino played the role of hero for Squirrel Hill. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 3-run home run off Damon Colcott to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"A great game, a great day," said Aquino about the win. "I can't complain."
