Farmers Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
Barton Springs center fielder Bo Nan was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Lancaster beat the Blues, 4-3. The win was credited to Eugene Brewer in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Leon Mannini took the loss. The Farmers improved their record to 41-28 by beating Barton Springs.
This game was not decided until Blair MacRuer came to bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded and two out, the Lancaster second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Farmers took the lead, 4-3.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Barton Springs manager Francisco Pelaez. "But we decided not to take it."
