Hops Pull Out Late-Game Win, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest, Yakima pitcher Jesse Martin was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. With the win, Yakima has a record of 35-36. Minnesota falls to 43-28.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Yakima. That's when Zi-xing Szema, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA in triples with 2, hit a run-scoring double off Luis Tobías to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Szema.
