Westwood got a terrific game from first baseman Troy Swati. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ottawa, 7-4. Swati went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Earnest Sorensen, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Mark Wilson, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA in saves with 16, nailed down the save.

Ottawa left fielder Juan Leyva helped the Fat Cats go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Leyva hit a run-scoring single off Westwood pitcher Joe Smith.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Leyva. "It sure beats the alternative."

The 7th-place Fat Cats improved to 35-36.
