Cholmondoley Lifts Shredders to 6-5 Win
In a tight contest at Atlantica, the Hollywood Shredders edged the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids by the score of 6-5. Hollywood third baseman Jason Cholmondoley, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Hollywood reliever Mark Sims got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Carlos Alaniz was tagged with the loss. The 9th-place Shredders have won 4 straight games.

Had Brandon Astbury not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Astbury hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Shredders.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Hollywood manager TJ Reynolds.
