Sixshooters Suffer One-Run Loss at Ottawa
|
Ottawa pitcher Brian Pinkman had a large part in his team beating the Westwood Sixshooters, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7.1 innings, Pinkman surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Mark Wilson closed the door for Ottawa, picking up his 17th save of the year.
Making an impact for the home team was John Nelson. In the bottom of the third, the 28-year old third baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-0, Fat Cats.
Said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The 7th-place Fat Cats are now 36-36, the Sixshooters 31-41.
