Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs and Pine Island Dolphins.

Gwinnett Guinea Pigs starter Sloppy Thurston was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Pine Island Dolphins, 2-1. Picking up his 21st save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Glenn Lortkipanidze.

Had Michael Frayo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Frayo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Guinea Pigs.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Pine Island manager Alfonso Dolton. "We just didn't cash in."

The Guinea Pigs now own a record of 43-31.
