Sixshooters Take Down Fur Traders, 4-2
|
The Westwood Sixshooters picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, knocking off the Tacoma Fur Traders, 4-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Westwood was right-hander Brady Allen. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher George Norton in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Emílio Moscoso took the loss. Peter Dupree earned the save, his 19th.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for David Hunt? The 27-year old center fielder Hunt stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Westwood up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
Said losing manager Jeff Rutherford: "Give the Sixshooters credit. They played a better game than we did."
The Sixshooters sit in 10th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 32-42.
