The Yakima Hops got a magnificent effort from pitcher Ron Jackson, who kept Pine Island hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Hops win at Hops Park. The Hops improved their record to 37-38 with the win over Pine Island.

Jackson imposed his will on the Dolphins, scattering 5 hits over 8 innings while striking out 8. The right-hander upped his season record to 1-0.

"Ron is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Yakima manager Juan Valéncia.
