Dolphins Handed 3-2 Loss by Guinea Pigs
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs and the Pine Island Dolphins, Todd Turner was the X factor. The Gwinnett right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Turner picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 8-6. The Guinea Pigs raised their record to 44-31.
Jesse Gregg had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Gwinnett. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Gwinnett in front, 3-0.
Pine Island manager Alfonso Dolton said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
