Mark Woods did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Richland Rails from being beaten, 6-4, to the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. Woods went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Joe Gordon picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-8 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 4 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Manny Rodríguez sewed up the save, his 14th.
Kade Walls, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in doubles with 16, came through for Westwood with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 runs batted in.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Walls.
Westwood now owns a record of 34-42.
