In a low-scoring contest between the Minnesota Loons and the Tacoma Fur Traders, Dean Medley was the X factor. The Minnesota right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Medley got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Luis Tobías, who leads the 3AA in saves with 25, nailed down the save.

Minnesota used a clutch hit from Simon Tapley to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Loons ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.

"Dean was dictating to their hitters," said Minnesota manager Calvin Beck.

The setback makes Tacoma 24-53.
