Seattle Upended by Boston, 3-1
|
In a tight tilt between the Boston Patriots and the Seattle Rocketeers, Orlando Díaz was the deciding factor. The Boston left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Díaz yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-4. The save went to Iiri Lahti, his 5th this season.
Douglas Wacher had a big run-scoring double for the Patriots in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Jesús Sánchez and swatted a double to left. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Patriots ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Díaz.
With the victory, the Patriots record stands at 42-35.
