Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids pitcher Pablo Valentín was in top form, leading his team past the Mexico City Blue Demons, 6-0. The third-place Rainbow Mermaids have won 9 in a row.
Markus Lund helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Northern Virginia a 2-0 lead.
"Pablo is a tough competitor," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.
