Starting pitcher Daniel Shields was a major factor in the 3-2 Minnesota Loons triumph over the Pine Island Dolphins. Luis Tobías snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-7 on the season. Paul Clark suffered the loss. Minnesota raised its record to 48-31 with the win.

Brent Pelaez was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Loons third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"That game was intense," Pelaez said.
