Saboteurs Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Fat Cats
|
The Toledo Saboteurs knocked off the Ottawa Fat Cats, 2-1, in M3L Double A action at Toledo Backyard Park. Toledo pitcher and Tucson, Arizona, native Steve Stewart had an outstanding performance. Toledo reliever Christian Williams was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Earnest Sorensen took the loss. The Saboteurs, at 37-42, have now won 5 straight.
Dave Gibbons was the walk-off hero for Toledo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Saboteurs second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Stewart told a Toledo Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
