Rainbow Mermaids Deny Shredders, 4-2

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Hollywood Shredders, 4-2. Starting pitcher Dustin Howard was a big reason why. With this game in the books, Northern Virginia is 37-40, Hollywood 30-47.
Center Fielder James Murphy made an impact for Northern Virginia, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Chris Johnston in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Murphy went 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.
