The Virginia Beach Whales overcame a pretty good performance by Richland first baseman Greg Hudson, beating the Rails, 7-6, at Rails Ballpark. Hudson went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Dean Bradley, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 12 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 4-4. The victory gives Virginia Beach a record of 49-32.

Virginia Beach used the clutch hitting of Hsuang-tsung Xian to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Whales the lead, 6-3. For the game, Xian had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
