Farmers Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The Lancaster Farmers had to overcome a good performance from Barton Springs pitcher Yan Velthuizen to claim a 3-2 win at Farmers Field. Velthuizen went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. After today's action, Lancaster sits at 42-40; Barton Springs slips to 42-40.
The Farmers relied on pinch hitter Culley Dring for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"It was a test of wills," said Dave Davis, the Lancaster skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
