|
In a low-scoring game between the Ottawa Fat Cats and the Richland Rails, pitcher Lowell Martin was the difference-maker. The Ottawa left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-1 Fat Cats win. Martin got the win, improving to 5-7. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earnest Sorensen got the save, the 10th for him this season.
Center Fielder Chris Bursey made an impact for Ottawa, when he swatted a solo home run off Karl Roberts in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Bursey was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Bursey said after the game.
After today's action, Ottawa sits at 37-47, while Richland falls to 48-36.
