Fur Traders Handle Hops, Nab 5-4 Win
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders beat the Yakima Hops, 5-4, at Ballpark of Tacoma. The win was due in part to third baseman Jorge Sánchez, who went 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Rafael Aragón. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 3. The win gives the Fur Traders a record of 29-55.
Sánchez contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Tacoma get the win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Yakima manager Juan Valéncia said, following the tough loss.
