Starting pitcher George Foster gave the Lancaster Farmers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-1, at Farmers Field. Today's win puts Lancaster at 35-51, while Squirrel Hill falls to 42-44.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Andrew Carlson didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Squirrel Hill trailing 3-1, Carlson retired John Barlow to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Carlson, with a wink.
