The Casper Ghosts faced a tough opponent in Lancaster pitcher Neil Rosbotham, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Graveyard by a final score of 4-3. Rosbotham went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Casper reliever Gerald Mathews picked up the win, raising his record to 3-5. Garry Davis was tagged with the loss. The Ghosts saw their win-loss record go to 44-43. At the same time, the Farmers fell to 49-38.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old shortstop Larry Parker had a chance to be the hero. Lancaster pitcher Garry Davis wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Parker hit a sacrifice fly. The Ghosts had themselves a thrilling win.

"It was bedlam at the end," Parker said.
