The 6-5 Boston win over Philadelphia was due in large part to Bill Meeks. The Patriots third baseman was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Boston reliever Mark Sanders picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Bill Carson was saddled with the loss. Boston, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Vincent Green was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
