Patriots Rally to Nose Past Long Island
|
The Long Island Lighthouse got a superb performance from pitcher David O'Farrell, but the Boston Patriots still won the game, 4-3. O'Farrell threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The Patriots, now 6-2, have hit the ground running this season.
Had Lance Slaymaker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Slaymaker hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Patriots.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Slaymaker told the Boston Observer.
