Extra-Inning Win by Hops Over Eclipse
|
The Yakima Hops finished off the Northville Eclipse, 5-3. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Peyton Nelson. Nelson was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Hops. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Yakima.
Nelson had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 0-1 fastball from Patrick Wilder, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Hops a 5-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Nelson.
"We ground out the win," said Nelson. "That's all that matters."
