The Pine Island Dolphins picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, taking down the Richland Rails, 5-3. Starting pitcher Doeke Pouwelse was a big reason why. Pouwelse yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-5. Michael Green recorded the save, his 1st.

Pine Island took a 4-1 lead on Jim Woods's 7th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Woods hit in the top of the seventh, left Richland pitcher Allan Lawrence visibly frustrated.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Woods. "You've got to get results."

The Dolphins move to 45-44 with the win, while the Rails drop to 50-39.
