Yakima Hops starter Alfonso Sánchez pitched a strong game against the Northville Eclipse at Old-Timers Park, leading the Hops to victory, 5-3. The Hops now own a record of 44-46.

Iván Cervantes dealt the Eclipse a blow in the top of the third. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Yakima leading 1-0, Cervantes hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Yakima manager Juan Valéncia. "It's usually not just one thing."
