Clayton Goes Off, But Eclipse Win
Ottawa left fielder Curt Clayton pounded Northville Eclipse pitchers at Nationals Park, but it was not enough to keep the Fat Cats from falling, 10-6. Clayton belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Northville pitcher Zhi Ling earned the win, hiking his record to 9-4. Ed Baker suffered the loss. The 5th-place Eclipse hiked their record to 47-44.

Steve Smith, the Northville designated hitter, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 8-5, Eclipse. For the game, Smith was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

"We're all smiles after that win," Smith told the Northville Times.
