The Virginia Beach Whales downed the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 5-4. The hitting star was designated hitter Carlos Torres. Torres went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Whales. Jim Lee earned the win to go to 3-1. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Ric Nelson closed it out for his 4th save.
