Rails Stay Hot, Beat Fur Traders, 10-4

The Richland Rails defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 10-4, at Rails Ballpark. Richland second baseman Scott Miller had a superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Richland pitcher Jorge Zapata got the win. He's now 4-7. Richard Pagnal was tagged with the loss. Richland has now won 5 in a row.
The Fur Traders had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Rails going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old catcher Zachary Glover came to the plate. Glover hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Tacoma hurler Richard Pagnal. It was Glover's 8th double of the year.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Miller told the Richland Daily. "Whatever it takes."
