Fur Traders Sink Whales, 5-3
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders downed the Virginia Beach Whales, 5-3. The hitting star was catcher Félix Hernández. Hernández went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Fur Traders. Luis López earned the win for Tacoma. He lasted 6 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 6-4. The 6th-place Fur Traders now sit at 46-45.
Tacoma took a 4-0 lead on Hernández's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Dean Bradley in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Tacoma to the win.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Hernández told the Tacoma Times.
