Juan Álvarez did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Whales from being beaten, 6-5, to the Tacoma Fur Traders at Ballpark of Tacoma. Álvarez slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Tacoma, with the win, is 31-61.

Terry Brown was the walk-off hero for Tacoma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fur Traders designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The crowd was juiced," said Brown.
