Toledo Backyard Park was the site for M3L Double A action featuring the Toledo Saboteurs and Virginia Beach Whales.

The Virginia Beach Whales soundly defeated the Toledo Saboteurs, 12-4, at Toledo Backyard Park, with first baseman Carlos Torres a major reason why. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Virginia Beach. The Whales raised their record to 33-60.

The Whales got an important contribution from catcher Ted Goderie, who in the top of the second hit a fastball to left for a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Whales ahead, 4-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Toledo manager Rodney Dudley.
