Dean Bradley had a strong outing for the Virginia Beach Whales against the Tacoma Fur Traders at Ballpark of Tacoma. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Jack Barr earned his 14th save, after closing out the game. Virginia Beach is now 35-58, Tacoma 31-62.

Corey Browning cracked a home run off Luis López in the top of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Whales on top, 2-0. In all, Browning had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

"Bottom line," said Tacoma skipper Jeff Rutherford, "we didn't play well enough to win."
