Shredders Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
|
Hurler Alex Thompson gave the Hollywood Shredders a solid start. The native of Honolulu, Hawaii helped his team defeat the Baltimore Bullets, 3-2, at Baltimore Grounds. Vic Byrd earned the save for Hollywood, his 13th. Hollywood is now 44-35, Baltimore 44-35.
Hollywood took a 3-2 lead on Maverick Miller's 12th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Miller hit in the top of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Thomas Rice visibly frustrated.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
