Pine Island got a strong outing from Andre Maccley as the Dolphins defeated the Ottawa Fat Cats, 3-2, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Dallas Bullard closed the door for Pine Island, picking up his 10th save of the year. The 7th-place Dolphins lifted their record to 48-47.
Roberto Vargo had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Pine Island. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Pine Island in front, 3-0.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Vargo said.
