Vipers Need Extra Innings to Top Polar Bears, 6-5
|
Led by Jim McDavid, the Vancouver Vipers defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 6-5, in 10 innings. McDavid went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Vipers. Vancouver reliever Adam Hill was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Thomas Reed took the loss. The Vipers have an impressive 61-36 record.
Vancouver used the timely hitting of Lambert de Koning to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Vipers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McDavid said.
