Virginia Beach center fielder Pedro De La Torre was instrumental in helping the Whales triumph, 7-5, over the Pine Island Dolphins. De La Torre was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Carl Zolman earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The Whales raised their record to 36-62.
