Saboteurs Score Late to Beat Ghosts, 5-4
|
The Toledo Saboteurs picked up a win at Toledo Backyard Park, knocking off the Casper Ghosts, 5-4. Starting pitcher Steve Stewart was a big reason why. Toledo reliever Christian Williams was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Maxwell Powers took the loss. With the victory, the Saboteurs record stands at 45-53.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, 23-year old second baseman Ángel Segura won it for Toledo. With a runner on 2nd, Segura hit a 1-0 fastball from Maxwell Powers for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"We were the better team," crowed Segura.
