On Road, Barton Springs Drops Northville, 5-4
|
The Barton Springs Blues defeated the Northville Eclipse, 5-4. Shortstop Diego Morales deserved a large share of the credit. Morales went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Blues. Andrew Hanson was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The 11th-place Blues are now 39-60, the Eclipse 65-34.
Barton Springs used a clutch at-bat from Chris Wolfe to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blues ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Northville manager Daniel Katz.
