Virginia Beach got a decent performance from pitcher Barry St. John, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pine Island Dolphins. Pine Island won the Virginia Beach Grounds contest, 3-2. St. John threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Sung-jae Park. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. Fernando López notched his 1st save of the season.

Brandon Denning, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2059 draft, chipped in a 2-run home run for Pine Island in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

Their 61-38 record puts the Dolphins second in the Menard's AA.
