Sixshooters Win at Yakima, 4-2
|
The Westwood Sixshooters converted a terrific effort from starter Juan López into a win over the Yakima Hops at Hops Park. The Sixshooters won the game by a final score of 4-2. The winner in relief was Brady Allen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 5-6. Terry Scott earned the save for Westwood.
Tied up with the Hops in the top of the seventh inning, the Sixshooters got a boost from center fielder Kernie LeBlanc. With the bases loaded, LeBlanc saw a full count cutter from Myron Downs and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Westwood on top, 4-2.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," López said after the game.
The first-place Hops dropped to 57-42.
