Pilgrims Lose By a Run at Yakima
The Yakima Hops picked up a win at Hops Park, knocking off the Providence Pilgrims, 4-3. Starting pitcher Nelson Otero was a big reason why. Larry Moore was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 14 save opportunities. Yakima has now won 4 games in a row.

The Hops got a big at-bat from second baseman Floyd Waddell. For the game, Waddell went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Yakima a 4-3 lead.

Waddell called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
