The first-place Richland Rails picked up another win.
The Richland Rails picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, knocking off the Yakima Hops, 3-2. On the mound for Richland was right-hander Dan McFarland. He played a key role in the triumph. Miguel Ortíz recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 3 for 3.
Had António Medina not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Medina hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rails.
After the game, Richland manager Ludovic Fontaine applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Richland leads the Menard's AA by 9½ games.
