Gardner hits 2 home runs in Arizona Win
|
The Arizona Javelina knocked off the Barton Springs Blues, 8-4, at Javelina Ballpark. Tom Gardner was a big reason Arizona won. The right fielder was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Pedro De Jesús nailed down his 1st save. The win puts Arizona at 2-3.
Martin Drake contributed to the Arizona win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Drake.
