J.J. González was a major contributor to the 7-4 Minnesota win over Lake Murray. The Loons designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. William Edwards, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The loss drops Lake Murray to 3-2.

Minnesota took the lead, 5-4, on Simon Tapley's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Lake Murray pitcher Dale Hodges in the bottom of the seventh.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," González told the Minnesota Citizen.
