The Billings Polar Bears downed the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 9-4. The hitting star was third baseman Tony Mendoza. Mendoza went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Polar Bears. Picking up the win was Carlos Ramos. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. The Polar Bears, now 4-1, have hit the ground running this season.

With Billings leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Mendoza hit a slider from Danny Hill for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 5-0.
