The Hollywood Shredders had their hands full with Toledo Stingers starter Mark Garland, who frustrated Hollywood hitters while leading Toledo to a comfortable, 9-0 win. Garland picked up the win for Toledo, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The loss drops Hollywood to 2-6.

Toledo used a well-timed hit by Elijah Smalls to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Stingers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Toledo manager David Bunting.
