Rainbow Mermaids Hang 7-0 Loss on Shredders
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Hollywood Shredders, 7-0. On the mound for Northern Virginia was right-hander Mitsuo Yoshida. He played a key role in the triumph. The Shredders, at 36-44, have lost 4 in a row.

Tied up with the Shredders in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids got a boost from first baseman Mike Joseph. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Joseph saw a 1-1 fastball from Dustin Burgess and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Northern Virginia on top, 1-0.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Yoshida.
